H.A.R.T. PRIVACY STATEMENT

Our mission at Homeless Animal Rescue Team (HART) is to bring about the day when all dogs, cats and other pets can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary suffering and destruction.

H.A.R.T. takes your privacy very seriously.  We commit to being accountable and transparent so that donors and prospective donors, volunteers, and anyone who uses our services can have full confidence in HART.

HART holds information/data on individuals, that those individual themselves have freely given us with a view to them adopting or fostering an animal from HART.  We need this information to locate/contact the individual and to identify if they offer a suitable home to the animal in question. The information may then be held for animal traceability purposes.

No data held by HART is ever used for any sales, marketing or automated profiling purposes.  At HART we are concerned solely with animal welfare and do not take part in any commercial activity.
We are committed to inquiring of the minimum information viable in order to help further our work in protecting animal welfare and then storing this information as securely as possible for only as long as we need to store it.  When we no longer have any need for your information it is promptly deleted from our files.

So just whose data H.A.R.T. process?

Names of our community of volunteers who help us on our mission. This data includes name, email address and in most cases a phone number.
Names and contact details of veterinarians and suppliers of foods, bedding and medicines we require for the welfare of animals currently with HART.
Names of people who have adopted or fostered animals from HART in the past and HART deem likely to do so again in the future.  This data includes name, address, email address, phone number and animal name for reference. Some basic non personal or financial household information may also be held here so as to identify best and most likely animal to household matches.
Names of people on HART’s current foster or adoption application lists.   This data includes name, address, email address, phone number and animal name for reference. Some basic non personal, non financial related household information may also be held here so as to identify best animal to household matches.  If for any reason these individuals do not subsequently foster or adopt a pet from HART, their data is deleted after no longer than 1 year from their application.

This list is not exhaustive and will be added to from time to time as the nature of our service and operations change.
In all cases (except those of veterinarians or suppliers whose contact information etc is freely available online or elsewhere), we do not hold any information on any individual that they themselves have not knowingly given us of their own free will.
There is no secrecy between HART and any one individual with regards to information held by HART on that individual.  You can request to to see or alter any data that HART holds about you at anytime by emailing HART at info@hart.ie

Every individual has the right to be “forgotten” by HART in that they can request at any time to have any information held by HART about them to be deleted.  This will be carried out immediately except where it would be deemed to impact on the health or welfare of any animal currently or previously connected with HART.

HART does not have access to or does not hold in any form credit or debit card information used by donors to make donations to HART via our website.
HART does not share any data or information with third parties external to HART except in the following circumstances:

  • With other trusted Animal Rescues on the occasion that they can play a role in homing a HART animal.
  • With emergency  services or Gardai should these parties request information from us.

HART uses secure servers hosted in Ireland and the U.K and all transfers are fully encrypted and secure.
